Manifesto

"The large-scale bloody war in Ukraine, which Russia started in 2014, has now been going on for two years. In a sense, this fact has become routine, a daily occurrence of evil, misery and sadness, to which one could almost get used. But you can never really get used to it. We have to go on living, we can't plunge into this abyss of sadness every day. So the only way forward is to continue to live, to create, while resisting and fighting against this evil that could engulf the whole world. We are human beings with our faults and our complexes, but we must find the strength to stand firm. We are not victims; we are heroes, but human, so we need the help of the civilized world to face up to this Russian evil. Ukraine is not only fighting for its freedom, but also for the freedom of the whole world, the right to choose, the right to take responsibility for one's own life. This is an existential war - a war for the values that distinguish the civilized from the uncivilized world, a war for the choice of civilizational development, a war whose consequences will impact on the destiny of all humanity.

A word by DdD

From their first show FREAK CABARET, a festive, fiery and ferocious concentration of women claiming their power and freedom, the DAKH DAUGHTERS today draw a strength of resistance, even if the beautiful energy of the beginning has been displaced, shattered by war. But their need to express the world is still alive, and now meets the urgent need to bear witness to reality through art. The fronts of war must be opposed by the fronts of art."

Le Monde
The catch of this impressive concert : it sparks an irresistible desire to sing at the top of your lungs with the band and dance wholeheartedly
La Provence
A caress, a slap. Softness and strength alternate in these instrumentalist singers whose musical universe draws as much from the traditional melodies of their country as from the polished and baroque side of Dead Can Dance, or the energy, urgency, and fierceness of the Béruniers Noirs, a french punk group that, in its time, paid tribute to a Ukrainian hero with the title 'Makhnovtchina'. Fire under the ice, a seismic shock. These artists carry beyond their borders the despair of an entire people.
Toute la Culture
There are six of them, looking like they stepped straight out of the universe of Tim Burton. They provide us with a suspended moment where the strings are brilliantly out of sync. They interwine their repertoire, ressembling freakish tales, with narratives of the war in Ukrain. Magnificient.
Rue 89
Nothing is more dangerous and subversive than an angry clown. The Dakh Daughters understand this well. Behind the whimsy of clown makeup and cabaret atmosphere, one quickly discovers a highly crafted artistic approach. The dialogue between images, the performance, and the audience unleashes a wild and surprising energy made of hop, madness, and poetry.
