The Piece

Holding up a mirror to the ancient myths that have fed the history of art, Adi Boutrous invokes, through body and movement, the ethical dilemmas that permeate them and sensitively offers them for sharing. In a world of mythical images and iconic symbols, the work touches on the tension of great stories and their place in our postmodern world, raising underlying questions about their purpose and the aesthetic implications of our perception. In the movement towards the disappearance of aesthetic principles, five dancers, in actions that evoke human desire, strive for simplicity, clarity and a personal language. 

A word from the Production

Creation 23. Premiere in August at the Tel Aviv Dance Festival, Suzanne Dellal Centre. REFLECTIONS will be presented for the first time in Europe at the Biennale de la Danse de Lyon, then at the Théâtre de la Ville de Paris, in September 2023, before touring in France.

Boutrous contrasts the visual and the kinesthetic aspect but also blurs the differences between them: the still images come to life, while the swings, exchanges and carrying of the bodies occur without sound, gently and gracefully, as if they were brushstrokes gently smeared across thestage.
